Condolences to the Cooper Family- Retired Clifton Fire Lieutenant



Kevin D. 64, life-long resident of Clifton, NJ, went home to be with his Savior on Thursday, March 2, 2017 after a valiant two-year battle with leukemia.

A graduate of Eastern Christian Schools, Kevin served the City of Clifton for twenty-six years as a firefighter, retiring in 2010 as Lieutenant of Truck 2. After retiring, he drove for Chief Trucking Co. in Wayne, NJ. He loved fixing things, helping anyone who needed help, working on his antique cars, and especially spending time with family.

Kevin enjoyed singing and participated in, among others, the Cathedral Choir, Belleville Choir, Living Word Choir, and Male Chorus for many years. He also loved working in his garden. As a member of Living Word Reformed Church, he served as Deacon. Kevin was a member of FMBA Local #21 in Clifton, the Antique Automobile Association of America (ACAA) and Tinker T’s.

He is survived by his loving wife Kathy; loved by his five children and their spouses: Laura Kuehlke (Rob), Kim Figueroa (Dave), David Coole (Inna), Kristen Byrne (Mike), and Lindsay Petruno (Chris); adored by his grandchildren: Anthony, Danny, Analyse, Michael, Joseph, Bella, Gabriella, and Kayla; his mother Alida (Houthuysen); brothers: Paul and Peter (Lois); sisters: Jan Van Someren (Bernie), Ellen Tintle (Todd), and Emily; sister-in-law, Nancy; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father, Nick and brother, Mark.

Visiting will be Tuesday 2-5 and 7-9PM at Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Rd., Clifton, NJ 07012 , with a private family burial on Wednesday morning followed by an 11AM Memorial Service at the Living Word Reformed Church, 21 Pleasant View Drive, North Haledon, NJ. 07508 with repast following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Living Word Reformed Church.

Condolences to the Colca Family – Former Clifton Fire Chief

FMBA 21 would like to express condolences to retired Fire Chief Joseph Colca and Family.

Colca, Joseph S., 89 of Clifton, passed away on February 15, 2016. He was born on May 3, 1926, lived in Clifton most of his life. His parents were Charles and Jennie (Elmo) Colca. He graduated high school in 1941. He married his childhood sweetheart in 1947 and had three loving children, Joseph & his wife Susan of Doylestown, PA, Kathryn & her husband Anthony Miragliotta of Clifton and Jane Colca of Riverdale. Grandfather of Joseph, Erin, Michela, Ryan and Lyndsay. Great Grandfather to Emma, Lucas, James, Connor, Giana, Joseph & Evelyn. Dear brother to Charles Colca Jr. of Pequannock and the late Rosalie Lambert. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He joined the Armed Forces after graduating school and served as a Sergeant in the Air Force, he was a Veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict. He worked at the Passaic Post Office for 11 years before joining the Clifton Fire Department retiring as Fire Chief. He loved his job and his fellow men who respected him with dignity always. He loved music and made many CDs for his friends, he loved to entertain and cook and his specialty was the sausage bread which everyone loved.
He was a man with dignity and pride and will forever be remembered. He never complained and enjoyed life to the fullest. If you knew him you would love him. He was the heart and soul of our family.

He was a member of the FMBA Local #21, the Firemen’s Relief Association in Clifton, the Leisure Time Friends, the St. Philip’s Prime Timers & The Knights of Columbus. Prior to becoming a Fireman he worked for the Postal service in the Passaic office for 11 years. Joseph was an Army Air Corps. Veteran of WWII and a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle RC Church in Clifton.

Funeral from the Marrocco Memorial Chapel 470 Colfax Avenue Clifton on Friday at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Philip the Apostle RC Church at 10 AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Wednesday 7-9 PM and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Condolences to the Lancaster Family

FMBA 21 would like to express condolences to Thomas & Ann Marie Lancaster and Family for the loss of Bernadette Lancaster. Berndette was mother to Thomas and Mother-in-Law to Ann-Marie; she passed away on October 8th 2015 at the age of 85.

Funeral arrangements are as follows:

Viewing is 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm on Monday, October 12, 2015 at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home located at 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton NJ.

Funeral will be held 10am on Tuesday, October 13th 2015 at St Phillips Church located at 797 Valley Road, Clifton NJ.

Condolences to the Tufaro Family

FMBA 21 would like to express condolences to retired Firefighter Louis Tufaro and Family.

Funeral arrangements are as follows: Viewing is 4 to 8pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Allwood Funeral Home located at 660 Allwood Road Clifton NJ.


Louis P., Clifton F.D. Ret. 78 died peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at his Clifton residence. Born in Lodi, Lou resided in Clifton for the past 49 years. A graduate of Lodi H.S., he received a degree in Fire Science at Passaic County Community College. Lou was employed as a Fire Fighter for the Clifton Fire Department for 30 years prior to his retirement in 2000. He was a member of FMBA Local #21 and is a former Scoutmaster of BSA Troop #23 both in Clifton. “Big Lou” served in the USMC in the late 1950’s and was an avid gardener. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Ann (Betz), by four sons, Louis J. Tufaro and wife, Mary Jo of Morris Plains, Christopher P. Tufaro , Gary V. Tufaro and wife, Janice and Gregory J. Tufaro and wife, Amy all of Cedar Grove; also by seven grandchildren, Valerie, Heather, Kaycie, Luke, Kyle, Alanna and Marissa; and by two brothers, John Tufaro of Myrtle Beach, SC and Patrick Tufaro of Paramus. Louis predeceased by 2 brothers, Joseph and James Tufaro. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday at Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Rd., Clifton, NJ 07012. Visiting hours are 4-8 PM Tuesday. Memorial donations to Cedar Grove UNICO, PO Box 27, Cedar Grove, NJ 07009 for a future scholarship fund in Lou’s name would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.

FMBA 21 would like to offer our condolences to the Bonomini Family for the loss of retired Lt. Robert Bonomini. He passed away at age 72 on May 24th, 2015 in Titusville Florida. Our prayers are with him and his family.
